Mousse de Maracujá (Passion Fruit Flan)

Mousse de Maracujá (Passion Fruit Flan)

Light, creamy, and refreshing, Mousse de Maracujá is one of Brazil’s most beloved desserts. With just a few ingredients and no baking required, this tropical treat is perfect for warm days, family gatherings, or a traditional Café da Tarde.

The tangy flavor of passion fruit balances beautifully with the sweetness of condensed milk, creating a smooth and irresistible mousse that sets in the fridge.

Ingredients

Optional topping:

  • 1 fresh passion fruit (pulp and seeds)

Instructions

  1. Blend the ingredients
In a blender, combine the condensed milk, table cream, and passion fruit juice.
  2. Blend until smooth
Blend for about 30–60 seconds until the mixture becomes thick and creamy.
  3. Pour into serving dishes
Divide the mousse into small dessert cups or a large serving bowl.
  4. Chill
Refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, until the mousse is firm.
  5. Add topping (optional)
Spoon fresh passion fruit pulp over the mousse before serving for extra flavor and a beautiful presentation.

Tips for the Perfect Mousse

Use concentrated passion fruit juice for a stronger flavor.

If using fresh passion fruit, strain the pulp to make juice for the mousse base.

For a richer texture, chill the mousse overnight.
